WMT: Declining promotions predict improved inventory

As consumers face skyrocketing prices for food out and groceries it appears the perceived value of Walmart is benefitting.

A year ao we captured a steady stream of  campaigns “flash discount up to 65% off”.  Those campaigns did not repeat so far in 2024.

Management noted improved inventory position and improved gross margins despite potential food deflation validating our ensemble.
