We are seeking a head of Data Science to serve as the technical lead for an exciting new product development focused on improving how Fortune 500 brands market new products and services with customers and leads. . Random Walk works with leading institutional asset managers to help them uncover inflections through changes in how top brands send emails.
Lead all technical processes for Random Walk and manage lean development team
Role & Responsibilities
- Utilize LLMs to understand the semantic content and context of email text to create rich, descriptive features
- Develop and train a primary recommendation model (e.g., collaborative filtering, gradient boosting, or a neural network) to generate a personalized outcomes for email user experiences
- Help design and implement personalization and recommendation systems
- Use statistical and machine learning techniques to segment users and predict future behaviors, developing automated logic and decision algorithms to deliver a better experience
- Develop features that predict user affinity for certain types of brands and activities
- Integration and Deployment: Work with the backend engineering team to integrate the model . The model must execute with minimal latency to avoid negatively impacting the user experience outlined in the architectural review.
- Privacy Compliance: Ensure all data handling and modeling practices are fully compliant with the project’s strict privacy-first approach, using only anonymized, non-PII data for analysis and training.
Qualifications
- 5 or more years of experience providing technical solutions
- Experience with personalization and recommendation systems
- Proven familiarity with LLM principles and machine learning deployable in production
- Proficiency in backend development, ideally with Python, Go, or similar languages
- Proven track record for speed and quality with experience delivering models, tools and features in an agile environment
- Bachelors or Masters degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Scientist
- Passion for building consumer centric experiences
- Strong communication and leadership skill
- Prefer a candidate located in Southern California
