Our email intelligence classifies and categorizes millions of emails each week. For Weight Watchers (WW) our systems detected several steeper than year ago discounting campaigns in July. Compared with the prior summer, WW had ramped the intensity and frequency of its offers. We also track Noom and our ensemble showed robust organic engagement growth as well as rapidly expanding marketing and email campaigns. As this was happening, WW blasted several 55% and 60% off discounts. Typically, when organic demand weakens we see an increase in promotional campaigns. This change in behavior was reported to our investor clients ahead of the earnings and revenue miss from WW.
