KORS: Too much inventory, steep discounts imply negative outlook

The fashion industry is notoriously fickle and handbag trends typify the “what is cool today, is sure to be out soon”. In the early 2000s Coach(COH) reinvented the handbag category by making luxury available at a reasonable price for woman. Then Michael Kors (KORS) took the industry by storm with super hot rose gold watches and ulta modern handbags. However our data ensemble indicate a massive glut of handbags as indicated by steep discounts. Additionally, online engagement at the e-commerce platform had dramatically slowed.
