Q1 Trends: Dramatic Deceleration Implies Negative Guidance

Despite solid holiday teends, by March our online ensemble detected a steep slowdown in consumer engagement. In addition to fewer visits, our metrics indicated consumers were browsing fewer items. Lastly, but perhaps most important our analysis of conversion pages indicated declining purchased. Together this slowdown implies comps could likely have turned negative.  For Express (EXPR), less promotional activity has perhaps played a role in consumers missing some on-point merchandize.
